now im confused.d2r or d2s?

so i was convinced we 2006 g's used d2r (thats what sylvania says and a buncha people here on the forum) i just changed out my oem bulbs for my new philips 6000k. i installed ultinon d2r..but when i took the oem bulb out it said philips d2s..

SO WHAT DO WE USE??

and how will my cars light output be affected by using d2r instead of d2s?

so confused now..

The 2006 projectors use D2S. The "R" in D2R is meant for a reflector housing which the older headlights used.

just put your stockies back on..

if you check some of the threads here a lot of them are saying that the output will not be so bad.. considering you dremel the base of the bulb to fit the d2s application.. the thing is ahero4 i remember myself and another member on this forum explaining to you on a previous thread that you "claiming that you use d2r's in an 06'' are supposed to use d2s'.. i thought that you read the posts that we put up.. if i can find the thread then i'll repost it..

regardless..sorry bout that man!.. you should try to contact sylvania about your mis-hap(considering you didn't do anything that could prevent you from receiving the correct bulbs) and let them know your situation and how they mislead you too.. they should be able to replace it.

yeh i remember the thread

for some reason (i know this is stupid so please dont flame me lol) i heard we had reflectors and that was the first thing i heard so i believed it

which is why i thought we (2006) use d2r

i had the dealer install the bulbs so i dont know what they did to make it fit..all i know is that they charged my 10 bucks to do it (but gave me free tough up paint cause i needed it)

anyway..sylvania was the one that fully convinced me that we use d2r

i didnt think a company like that would post the wrong bulb..

as for complaining to them..idk how much good that would do since i didnt buy their product..i only used their guide..as a guide

so the d2r bulb wont hurt my car or anything will it? maybe a little less output but thats okay for now..

lol

so you think its okay to leave them in for a few weeks? that is until i have time to take em out and scrape off that gray stuff?

that is the only other difference..right? besides the bases being different..d2r has that gray crap..

so once i scrape that gray crap off will i be okay?

i really dont feel like paying another 180 for new bulbs..
