go park your car at night in front of a wall/garage/etc (about 5-10 feet away..) and shine your headlights..

there SHOULD be a clear and defined cutoff..it should be literally night and day..

does that make sense? im not the best explainer..

it SHOULD be a nearly perfect horizontal line where the hid light cuts off
