do the math if all the material is gonna cost about 1000 then add your labor. How long does it take? No matter what people always cry about the price of everything but if they want it they will buy it. Just make sure that it is quality work and don't rape people on the price.

projector

There isn't a right price, really. Charge a fair labor cost + parts,
then if there's a market, they'll pay. Most people will complaint
about price, but they also don't know what does it takes to do a retro.
Unfortunately, mass market headlight with Projector, such as some for
older model of honda etc, only sell a few hundres buck for the set., I don't think you'll be able to produce into that kind of price range anytime soon,
So I wouldn't worry about the mass market. Just focus on small group of clients.

I think there'll be a reasonably good market for Non projector retro into Projector, & less of a market from projector to retro into quad. As now, all of these Hundai & Kia comes with projectors, I could nonlonger stand my G without one. Maybe other are thinkg the same?

Don't compare to the OEM List Price, Most people will just get the used OEM Headlights from ebay, You can get a set of 03/04 OEM geadlight for ~$300, It'll cost more for the 05 Model as fewer people selling them.

I got mine for $500/pair from ebay, but one at a time because I can't find any one selling a pair, just for the OEM headlight to start retrofit project. Send my headlight to Litto & waited 6 momth, that's before labor/parts come in. I am not going to say how much, That's Litto's business. It's expensive but consider the labor, expensive projector parts etc, I think I was charged a fair price.

Now my lights are on the way, I will swap off my OEM 05 sedan Headlight, & Probably sell it back on ebay or someone at this board who want to Retrofit too. ( need to do it on second set of light, unless one can afford to not to drive the car for several month). Then they can selll again after the project is done & so on. I may recover part of the cost for this project by selling, but then maybe I should just keep it incase the new projector llights get damaged. I'll have to decide later.

I used to work for a injection molding company, It's not easy to do High quality molding, The OEM light is well done. I would stick to getting OEM headlight from ebay as starting point. There are some folks selling cheap
molded non OEM G35 headlights on ebay , already start to hear bad fitting problems. On top of that, You can also see the divider , more obvious on these bad lights. the OEM mark is less visiable, although, I wish they didn't have the divider mark at all ( the line between top & bottom headlight on the clear plastic) that would been wonderful. However, it was better than the ebay cheapy one, which the divider runs vertical, top to bottom.

great input man, I wasn't contemplating mass market or producing full size headlights, I was trying to save myself sometime by perhaps making copies of the quad projector set up with the 06 housing. Just having the housing part. It's alot of wishful thinking I suppose, but I want a more efficient way to make the clearance strip is what it comes down to.

I'd be interested in a set of 06 style + functional clearance strip if:

1. I didn't have to send you anything (cores, whatever)
2. It was $800 + shipping

In order for it to be 800 we would need around 30 people+ to all put down the full amount to get the mold done and it would require headlights be sent in, if you want a realistic estimate.

I would buy a set if the price were around 1000-1200.
