Piaa bulbs PEEL...anything better?

Piaa bulbs PEEL...anything better?
For my side markers, I've been using the piaa xtreme white bulbs. here is the info:

Twin Pack 19172
Bulb Type 168 Wedge
Wattage 5w
Technology Xtreme White

I've had them for about a year and I just noticed that it was turning yellow. I thought someone had switched the lights but the bulbs were peeling! It's just a cheap regular bulb with blue film on it.

any recommendations on bulbs that aren't wrapped in blue?

thats odd. ive used piaa wedge bulbs before and ive never had any problems. i wonder if luminics makes wedge bulbs. i hear they have quality stuff.

I just read about how you were praising the ones I have. They don't match the the philips 6000k well. It's a little too blue

theyre much better than the LEDs i use to have. the LEDs were WAY to blue. in all my experiences with piaa xtreme whites they have been pure white. maybe its different to every persons eye. idk, looks good to me. i have no complaints.

so what color side markers are you looking for? pure white? white with blue tint? etc.

mine did the same thing. those piaa wedge bulbs are crap.

i have piaa xtreme white led's and they match the ultinon's pretty well, not perfect but looks nice!

Not bulb will match, you'll need to go with LED technology.

i would not suggest leds from vleds.com for side markers. maybe i just have bad luck but in 2 months ive had two sets of leds from them and both sets started to flicker after a month each

I use the wedge bulbs in my license plate lights and all over for interior lights in my other car, never had a peeling problem.

For my clearance strip, I use PIAA LEDs:
