Illegal color of side marker lights. If present, must be yellow in the front and red in the rear (25106, 24003 VC).

NHTSA requires white/amber lights and an amber reflector. So clear corners are illegal in the US, regardless of bulb color because you have removed the amber reflector.
Some states have regulations that supercede the NHTSA requirements, meaning that they only allow amber lights for the corner indicators.
So if you're in a state that allows white lights for your corner indicators, you might not get your ***** busted for the clear corners alone. If you're in a state that requires amber lighting, then your odds of getting hit for white lighting are still pretty good.
