Sedan Sequential LED Rear Turn Signal

Has anyone tried to make a sequential LED rear turn signal? There were some done over at my350z on a Z.

http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthre...light=LED+tail

I've never taken out the rear light assembly, so I'm not sure of the size and all that. It would be a project I'd be willing to undertake though. I think it could look pretty sick on a G.

I think it would like kind of hot too. The rear tailight is not that hard to take apart. The only thing that looks tough is that most of the light is a circuit board of LEDS!

I probably should have mentioned I have an 04, so I don't have rings. The circuit board doesn't scare me, its the disassembly and reassembly of the tail light that I'm always worried about. A couple things I'd have to figure out is the spacing inside the housing, along with what is the default blink rate on our cars (blinks per second). I've already got an idea on what I'd use for parts, based off of the link above and my own experience with my LED clear corners. It also helps when electronics is your job

I think it would be hot to have the rear turn signal to be LED ring and sequential. Alot of work needs to go into this....ah..more potential project.

I guess having a sequential ring is a hotter topic than the 03-04 sedan lights What would you want to do for the ring? Just spin in a circle when you have the signal on? Or start on the middle inside, and then have it work around the ring to the outside?

Either way, does anyone have some of the measurements of the 03-04 sedan lights and the blink rate? I think this project will happen this spring for me... possibly even before I do the LED interior conversion...

I have a coupe.. But I imagine a circular motion will be more noticeable but a sequential to the outside is cool too. For the coupe, I will have to first do the GTR style dual rings and Im thinking about for turnsignal it will go from inside to outside creating a rear filled circle inside the larger ring.

on a coupe...we should have current turn signal rings become LED rings....so now we have the GTR look with 2 LED rings and have the inner 3 rows of stacked LEDs become the signals.

I dont know if the inner stacked being signals are good..they are too close to the middle. It'd look weird. Im going to mess with the stock location

Haha, I guess I'll have to get on it then. Breadboarding it shouldn't really be that bad. Sorry to disappoint you guys though, when I finally post pics (however far into the future that is), it won't be the rings y'all are all seeming like you want Us sedan folks need some uniqueness too....
