06 Headlight upgrade question

06 Headlight upgrade question

I just upgrade from 03 headlights to 06..and i notice that when I turn the lights from low to high beams ... i heard this "gaka gaka" noises..is this normal?? i dont heard those sounds with my 03 headlights..~~

Yeah, happens on my car too. Almost sounds mechanical like there's some sort of toggle switch in the headlights themselves between the lo/hi beams.

it's a solenoid that's powered by the high beam power when you turn on high beams.

Traditional H4 halogen has dual filament, so when high beam is applied a separate power source powers the second filament creating high beams.

But on a Bi-Xenon projector like the one in 06. low beam remains on, it's the solenoid that blocks part of the light drops down to allow more light out, creating high beams.
