Fog lights/high beams

I was working on the car last night and noticed that one of my fog lights was not working. I thought the bulb simply died. When I turn the fog lights on and off, the bulb doesn't light up, but when I turn the high beams on, they're both lit up.

I also noticed that when my fog lights are/were on, they give a "light yellow" color while the high beams give off a "dark yellow" color.. which is kinda weird since, If I'm not mistaken, the fog lights and high beams run off the same bulb.

NOTE: I have PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow bulbs.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jeff

Your bulbs are dual filament. So the filament for the low beam (fog) broke while the filament for the high beam stayed intact. That's all.

Not sure about the color difference, though its probably voltage related. Never used the PIAA bulbs.

Is there anything I can do to salvage the bulbs?

Turns our that there's a local place nearby that sells the Luminics H4 Yellow bulbs. I'll pick up a pair tomorrow.

Now onto the harder part, the last time I tried to change bulbs in the headlights, I ended up getting several little cuts on my hands, LOL. Anyone know an easier way to change the fogs without removing the front bumper? I have the Nismo front and I don't know how the shop installed them and where they drilled the screws..

HELP!

+1. It is a PITA if you have big hands but it beats taking off the bumper.

Easiest access is to jack up the car put it on stands turn the wheel to the right if you are working on the left pull the two snap pins out and you will have easy access to the headlight/foglamps. If you want to change the the clearance bulb to some LEDs, now is the perfect time to do it since you'll be working in there anyways.
