Question ? 06 quad projector retrofit onto a 04 question

im new to the retrofitting so i'm learning as i go, ok so here is the question i have,

im doing a quad bixenon setup and was wondering if anyone knows how to fix the problem of the fog projectors from turning off when you turn on the high beams.

someone mentioned something bout a kp module or something, or could i do a relay of some sort,

thanks in advance

The KP module allows for independent fog light control. You would be able to run your fogs without having the low beams on. I am not sure that the module would solve your problem though.

right now im experimenting on with some celicas and some unknown clear lense, they are clearer than the celica lens the the focal point is some what different, i'm have the problem with the cutoff being sharp around 10 or so feet and crap beyond 30+ but i'm new to this so i'll probably mess with them some more this weekend,

i bent the front shield down, and it got sharper, but can't figure a way to get the color more across the beam, without the cutoff looking all whack

Acura TL, TSX, Honda S2000 are some of the more popular ones that people retro fit them with. Especially cause the projectors are 2.5" which fit into our headlights without serious modification. Plus they are compatible with the D2S bulbs and what not. They have some of the best output to. Just some info for ya....

Ditto! I did this over the weekend but still have to play with the cuttoff angle on the projector to perfect the beam pattern. I'll snap a few shots sometime tonight to show what I'm talking about.

I did mine kinda like how IvoryGT did his but minus dremelling the projector neck on the inside.

The only problem I have is that the beam pattern isn't straight like __/--- its like curving down a bit on the outer edges almost like a parabola. I have to take some pics to show you guys what I'm talking about...

BUT as for the clear lenses...use TSX. They're cheaper than the S2000s and more common to find yet both have the exact same lense lol. In fact a few halogen cars out there have the same lense and have cheaper priced lamps lol

However the output is much sharper and more clear with the clear lense over the fresnal ringed one if that makes sense. Its worth it

Just a quick disclaimer though...if you only change the lense and don't alter the cuttoff metal inside the projector, you'll definitely have a sharper beam pattern much better than stock but the cuttoff will have yellow where it should be blue (like on IvoryGT's thread)...to fix that you should tweak it a bit to gain that blue effect and you're in business!

I have lenses for this swap if anyone is interested and it's not gonna cost you 150 like TSX.

anyway. the reason the light curves down at the edges because you bend the shield real far back and you didnt change the shape of the shield to more of a semi-circle first. You need to follow the color mod DIY thread for details

You need to hook up BOTH the high beam(yellow wire) and foglight (red wire) power to the Positive of the ballast. But you need a 400V Diode in both of the wires. This way when you switch to high beam the light stays on and the power doesn't travel backwards.

Also make sure you split the yellow wire to the solenoid of the projector for the shutter of the bi-xenon

i've got the cutoff straight and nice at around 5-10, with a lil color, but farther away it get worse and worse, i'll try to take some better pictures, i have some but its hard to tell because the lighting was off.

btw im felix_300zx on HidPlanet

well maybe you can help me make these cutoffs better.

on the celica lens the cutoff looks really sharp up close but far away it looks like this below

heres is one with your celica lens and the front shield bent down

and heres on with some clear unknown lens also shield bent down

that seems too simple, but very easy
btw, i have 06 lights and the 06 harness, it has different colors but it would work the way you describe above?

read the DIY and do exactly as I decribe

You need to have perfect cutoff at 25' not 10' then you will have sharp cutoff at 100'

EUREKA!

i figured it out, i didn't do it your way but similar,
your way works with the tsx since it fits into the holder,
but since the celica lens and the unknown ones are slightly larger they sit on top of the holder.
i removed the metal spacer to see what happened and i got color across, but not as straight,
so i put it back and thought i would try pushing the front shield i bent down earlier back up past the other and eureka it was sharp and had some color.
tweaked it some and now it looks awesome

clear unknown lens about 50'

celica lens about 50'

If you push the front lense up though, doesn't your cutoff bow? How about a complete cutoff picture?
