There was another group buy thread that offered them for $185 shipped
Figured you might want to look at this for your reference.
I'm interested in the set also.

Hey Paul - from what I understand the output of the 85122cm is not that much less than the 85122+: 3100 vs 3400 lumens, if I recall correctly. That's only 9% reduction in light output. I agree that aftermarket bulbs such as the Ultinons are a poor choice because you lose 25% of your light output. But 9% I can live (and drive) with.
In fact, I was going to put in the 85122's any way (already bought them) so I can get the colorshift to eventually have a whiter light. Even those bulbs are rated at 3200 lumens - 200 less than OEM. The 85122cm's are at 3100 so I'd rather just get the lamps that are already at the color temp I want right out of the gate. I'm just giving up another 100 lumens.
In any case, if anyone is still interested in this GB let me know. If I don't get any interest in the next week or so I'll probably just buy them myself at full price.
Thanks
B

Yeah, $240 is not cheap for lamps you just wanna test with!
But for daily use lamps that provide a nice pure white with a relatively low amount of light output loss, I'm still in!
I'm going to setup the group buy later today...if you guys are still interested just sign up there.
Thanks,
B

Here's another reminder that the GB is still up. I think if we can at least get 2 more people on-board we can get some discount. It looks like 10 will be a stretch....but 2 more?
Come on guys!
Come on guys!
That's my question, I like my stockers but would be willing to upgrade if there's something out there with same output and a bit more color. Just got a nice german made bi-xenon H4 set for Hi-fog setup, will see how those turn out. I keep hearing about folks geting the ultinons to replace the stock D2r's yet they come with advantages(more color) and disadvantages(less output), I guess it all depends on what you want, I just want DAYLIGHT at night

Here's some info on these bulbs vs. the OEM's (copied this from one of my other posts, with some modifications):
The output of the 85122cm is not that much less than the stock 85122+ bulbs: 3100 vs 3400 lumens, if I recall correctly. That's only 9% reduction in light output. I agree that aftermarket bulbs such as the Ultinons are a poor choice because you lose 30% of your light output - 2400 vs. 3400 lumens. But 9% I can live (and drive) with.
As for the color temperature, the 85122cm is rated at 4800k. That's 700k more than the OEM 85122+ bulbs, which are rated at 4100k. So you're that much closer to the pure white look we all want.
Another advantage of these bulbs over the OEM is the 85122+ OEM bulbs don't colorshift so they'll always stay that "yellowish halogen" color.
And just so you guys know, the Group Buy we've got with XenonFactory is only for the D2S 85122cm bulbs. The D2R's are out of stock right now.

Old and krusty thread I know, but what happened to this. I've searched high and low and the best I've found is $100 a pair. I've even found some in Herzogenaurach, Alemania (Spain's ebay site). Ivory I know you're on hidplanet.com so if you have any ideas let me know. I saw your 85122CX pics from Japan and I'd go for them if they didn't color shift. I've tried the DL50's and I think I'll end up trading them back in.

As far as colorshifting on the 85122CX, its anyone's guess.
DL50s are extremely bright but not good for your projectors.

Yeh, though on hidplanet.com someone made an attempt at temp testing them and they actually ran pretty cool. And PM on the way.

If you really found them for 100/pair I'll get in on it for a backup set. I bet if you ask the vendor they'll tell you that 100 is actually per bulb...
