Stealth bulbs for clear corners - review and pics

I recently got a pair of "stealth" wedge (194/168) bulbs for my clear corners. They're basically just amber bulbs with a metallic coating (pic 1).

Pros: I think they live up to their claim, the egg yolk look is definitely gone when the bulbs are turned off (pic 2).

Cons: The metallic coating decreases light output (pic 3) and they're a little pricey ($30 for a pair).

I'm probably going to live with the decreased light output though, since I modded my sidemarkers (clear corners with overlays) for the look during the daytime.

If you're interested, these can be purchased at:
http://www.stealthauto.com/Store/Pro...roductid=SBCA2

They also make stealth versions of our turn signals (7440).

You could also use V-LEDS. They cost quite a bit less.

i believe you can actually buy the metallic paint and just paint some wedges yourself for a lot cheaper.

I know, I'm terrible, I'm gonna post some info in a few days about matching wedge bulbs to 6000K ultinons, I wasted almost $100 on different brands! Sometimes the perfect look costs $$$ though, and bulbs are a trial and error game.

I actually got a pair of amber LEDs from v-leds, they're on the way. I don't think they're gonna match the look of the stealth bulbs during the day though. I was looking for something that takes attention away from the bulb socket area, and I think the reflective coating helps.

P.S. You never know though, the LEDs might look better, I'll post pics when those come in.

V-LEDs will do the same job, save you some $$$, and have better light output (imo) than the stealths. Since there is no color on the LED itself there is no amber "distractions" when the light is turned off, and when the light is on the amber is very vibrant.
