i bought a new zenon bulb but it wasnt the problem.because theres only a few of these cars here in the uk and i dont know wherethe fuse is or if there is one for each headlight.has anyone else had this situation.any help would be appreciated.im wondering if i have a bad earth

How do you know its not the bulb? Did you try switching the bulbs from side to side? If its not the bulb, then it may be the ballast/ignitor. If it was the fuse, I would think both sides would be out

 

Did you swap bulbs to check? If so, then it is probably your ballast.

 

i swopped the bulbs and it worked on the other side.ive never herd of a ballast ignighter what and where is it can i get one and can i fit it myself.

 

the ballast is the grey piece at the bottom of the headlight assembly. it is the igniter for the HID bulbs. there are 3 screws that hold it on the headlight housing. there is one harness on the outside (i believe green) and another on the inside (i believe brown). there is also a ground cable inside.

 

can you get to it from the inner wing or does the headlight have to come out.will i have to buy it from a main dealer or one of the companys on the website. and last of all are they exspensive

 

you have to remove the headlight. it is all the way at the bottom. and i'm pretty sure you would need a direct replacement. check ebay.

 

wow i just priced it up at nissan uk and if it is the same thing they called it a control unit i think ill have to remortgage the house .other than ebay could i get one elswhere .and has anyone got any idea how much they are in the usa.
