Door Lights
I was searching and maybe my search skills suck, and if you guys do prove me that they do suck, then I'm sorry.
On the coupes, the doors have a red reflector. Is that supposed to light up? I saw some people's pictures and I can't tell if they are light, or if it's a reflection from a camera flash? I know this is a stupid question, but my don't light up and I'm new to the G35's. Thanks.
Also, can anyone provide a link to the correct LED size or a place to buy the right size for the courtesy lights under the doors. Thanks.
Has anyone had any luck changing the vanity mirrors to LED's too? Thanks.

it's just a reflector. it does not light up.
you can purchase the courtesy lights from vleds.com or superbrightleds.com (i prefer vleds).
no one other than clearcorners.com has changed the mirror vanity lights, as far as i know.

but then again, when you're done with your conversion.. and if its a success, post how much time it all took. usually, things seem a lot easier until you know, they're actually completed and all. :-)
The red reflectors in the doors do not light up stock, but if theres a will theres a way
I ended up extending the wires from the lower door light to the reflector (you can still use that light). I cut a piece of a plastic sheet to perfectly line up with the edges of the reflector and painted it with some chrome spray paint. Drilled a hole and mounted an 8mm white inverted led. Cutting the plastic just right allows you to put it between the reflector and the door, no glue required, no rattles either. I know it may seem like overkill but infiniti seemed to cut all the corners when it came to stuff like this on the g. I just like to finish up those unfinished things that should have been done in the first place.

(Notice the nice bottle of polish I ran over pulling into my garage? lol)

Cold cathode fluorescent lamp. Your not going to want to use ccfls in your vanity mirrors. The smallest you can get is 3" it will be a tight fit and you will also have to find a place to tuck away the inverter that is about twice as big as the light itself. Maybe you could put the inverter in the sunglass holder (who uses it anyway). You would still have to route the wires under the roof liner and into the visor. If you really want to change the vanity lights just use vleds like suggested above, dont mess with ccfls/inverters for that.
EDIT: I just took a look at my vanity mirrors and vled does not make a direct replacement for this. Your best bet would be to use smd led strip (surface mount diode). Basically, just an extremely thin led with a bunch of them on a stip. You will probably get better output though with the ones u have in there now.
