colors are off...what to do???
hey everyone, so I just got some hyper white LEDs (the 6 LED bulb) for my clear corners and it looks decent. The only problem is that it looks extremely awkward because the headlights are stock...and they are a very different color (not hyper white). I was wondering what people usually do to make their headlights hyperwhite as well. I don't know much about this stuff so any help would be great. I'll post pics as soon as i can, but i'm pretty sure most of you know what i'm talking about. Thanks!!!
First we need to know if you have stock HID or just halogen bulbs? If you have HIDs, the stock 4300K HIDs should be close to your hyperwhite LEDs, but I suppse you could change the D2R bulbs to 6000K to get more white/blue color.
However, I am leaning toward the likelyhood that you only have halogen bulbs. If this is the case, you have two options: 1) stay with halogen bulbs but get some that have a blueish tint, i.e. Silverstars, Hoens, PIAAs, etc. Lots of options, the Silverstars are close to stock HID color but still provide good light output. Most of the others are going to be more blueish but be less bright. Option 2) upgrade your headlamps with an HID kit, which will run you a few hundred $$. Depending on the kelvin temperature you choose, you will get a blueish color that should match the hyperwhites, and because it's HID you will get better light output than halogen bulbs will ever give you. If you can spend the $$, I would go this route. You can buy them at places like this ----> http://www.xenonking.com/index.html . You'll need the entire kit with bulbs, ballasts and ignitors. BTW, McCulloch is a good brand.
(There's a third option, doing a HID projector retrofit, but that will cost you $$$$ by the time you are done buying the HID kit, the projectors, and cutting open your headlamps. Probably not what you are looking to do.)

Silverstars - $35 - http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...ce/Silverstar/
Hoen Xenonmatch - http://www.hoen-usa.com/plus.htm
Changing the headlamp bulbs is a little tedious; I searched this forum for a How To but couldn't find one for the low beams. There are several on the fog/high beams ( https://g35driver.com/forums/body-interior-exterior-lighting-diy/86248-diy-replacing-fog-lights.html ), but its the same process to get to where the bulbs are since they are right next to each other.
The picture below shows how the Hoens look, Silverstars are much the same. Both FXs in the picture have stock 4300K HID headlights, but the FX on the left has Hoen Xenonmatch fogs while the one on the right has stock halogen bulbs.

if your headlights coloring is more yellow and look like most every other car on the road then you have plain ole halogens like me. If your headlights have the more rare, exotic, brighter and more whitish blue coloring then you have HID's. My GF's G35x has HID's and they flicker real quick when you turn them on. May help ya out ?
also if your fog lights match your headlights coloring they are halogens
if your fogs are noticeably a different color than your headlights you have HID headlights

ok, so when i look at my headlights, the top bulb in the set of three seems to be xenon, the middle large bulb seems to be halogen, and the fog light seems plain orange. Does this affect my options? I think i was told that i had bi-xenon lighting at one point. idk...
