MODS & ADMIN: feel free to sticky this if you get a chance

There's been a few people asking how to change their foglights and i've changed mine twice now so for all you guys out there that dont know where the hell to start and you want to change your fog's here you go.

Tools:
flat head Stubby screwdriver
philips Stubby screwdriver
adjustable wrench (or 10mm socket if you have one)

Step 1.
Turn the wheel all the way in

Step 2.
Use the stubby flat head to take out the 3 clips on the inner fender liner.

This is the clip directly below the upper control arm.
Proceed to take out the other two clips, one directly above the tire and the other one is about a foot below the first one.


Step 3.
Remove the screw above the corner light with your philips stubby

Step 4.
Get under the car and remove the 5 10mm bolts with your 10mm socket or adjustable wrench (you can do it with a philips but they might be too tight so i loosened them with the wrench then took them out with the philips.


Step 5.
Once all 5 bolts are out pull the fender out from the wheel well like so.


Step 6.
Go back under the car and take out the remaining 2 clips that hold the fender in the wheel well. then pull the fender liner out all the way.

Step 7.
Unscrew the dust cap from the fog light housing (lefty-loosey, righty-tighty)


Step 8.
Pull out the connector from the bulb itself (Shouldnt take that much pulling, but dont be afraid to give it a little muscle, you wont break it.)

Step 9.
Now that the back of the bulb is visible, pinch the silver hold down on either sides with your fingers and pull it back.


Step 10.
Remove the stock bulb and replace it with your new one.


Now all you have to do is reverse the process and put everything back together... follow the 10 steps in reverse order

 

The particular bulbs i used are Luminics H4 6000K Pure Blue fog lights.
Here's what they look like after being installed.



If you have any questions at all or you need pictures with arrows or something feel free to ask. Hopefully this will help a couple people out that dont know what they're doing. This took all of 30 mins with snapping the pictures in between. So it would only take about 10-15 mins each side if you follow the directions and dont run into any problems.

nice write up!! would it still be the same procedures for replacing the HId's?

 

You know, i really dont know if it's the same, i've never messed with HID's. I want to get some 8000 or 10000K bulbs but i dont know when that will be. I would assume it would be the same, just some extra parts for the HID's

damn! i've never heard of Luminics H4 6000K - i just got PIAA Super Plasma GT-X 5000k, thinking that it's the bluest one could get in non-HID. how are they at night? do they have high-beams, and if so, what's the temperature of those? do you have any night pics? /me subscribing

WOW 8k 10k? dont you think thats a litte much? you wont have geat output and youll look really purple... not a good idea...maybe 8k but no 10k just my 2 cents.

 

They are good at night, pretty bright down low, they have high beams but they're not very good (i used to have the luminics 3750K ultra golden bulbs and the highs on those were awesome, they lit up everything), they light up signs very well though. dont know the temp of the high's. I dont have any night pics, i tried taking some but they didnt come out right (i dont know how to take good night pics)

I'm probably get these too... I won't leave them on but you know... when you want the bling factor, it's pretty damn cool. (blue)

 

Yea i know i'll lose output but i dont really care (i only drive at night for about 10-20 miles on the way to parties or home from work), it's still better than halogens and i want it to be almost pure blue like my fogs.
