Re: Anyone interested in Cleared headlights?

Mr zipps has a really good rep in the acura forums. He cleared alot of different headlights of other cars too. He even gave me tips when i cleared my former TL-S headlights.

Re: Anyone interested in Cleared headlights?

i originally had mr.zipps do my lights and he did a HORRIBLE job. He used a dremel to cut out the orange, and he scraped off the factory chrome paint around it leaving it to look absolutely horrible. Not to mention all of the orange he left, and the sloppy cutting job he did...on top of that, they were not sealed correctly, and there were scrapes on my lenses...on a scale from 1-10 i give mr.zipps a -2...i DO NOT recommend using him..I thought I had to buy new headlights when I first saw it..it was absolutely horrible. He may do something good with acuras and 350's, but not G's..he has NO CLUE what he was doing, and i would never let that "kid" go near my car ever again.

Re: Anyone interested in Cleared headlights?

I live in NJ and would jump at the chance to get these lights - as long as the price is reasonable.

Re: Anyone interested in Cleared headlights?

ok guyz..here is some more information:

I talked to him tonight, and he said that he would do anyone's headlights that wants to have them done. The cost will be determined by what you want him to do. He can do several different things. When he cuts/grinds out the orange lense, that little piece in there has to be painted because it is originally painted factory chrome, but when you take out the orange, there is still an orange ring left. So he can paint the piece chrome(like mine, and like it looks stock), or he can match the color of your car(blue, white, black, etc etc), or any other color you may want. If you look at your blinker now, the area right in front of the orange piece is what i'm talking about. That will have to be painted. He airbrushes the piece to get it to look perfectly stock like it came from the factory that way.
As far as the blinker(bulb) itself goes:
The color of the bulbs behind the orange piece is clear or white..when it shine on the orange piece it makes it look orange. I had him color(with a highlighter) the bulb. This makes it appear a pail yellow, which is just enough yellow to be legal and not get pulled over. When the lights are off, you cannont see the bulb even if you get close and try to. He can put a yellow bulb in place of the clear ones that are stock, but then you will always see a yellow color in that area, and it would make the MOD pointless. I snapped some pictures of my car a little while ago. It was kind of dark out, and im not the best photographer.

As far as contacting him goes:
His name is Anthony, tell him Kyle sent you, and you are interested in getting your g35 lights cleared out. Tell him what you want, colors, bulbs, etc...and he will give you a price. The shop is called Unlimited Auto in Pompton Lakes NJ, and the shop number is 973-835-7111..the hours are 8am-5pm. Feel free to ask anymore questions.

Kyle

Re: Anyone interested in Cleared headlights?

I want to do exactly what you did but I'll probably change my bulb to a chrome painted orange bulb and then wire it so that it only comes on when I blink....

The wiring and the bulb I'll take care of myself...

Just for the labor (the same labor your did) how much did you pay???

How long did it take? If I drove down for a day and left the car with him from the first thing in the morning could I have it back by that afternoon?
