HeadLight Ballasts

What up fellas. I have an 'o4 coupe, and I was thinkin about switchin to the '06 headlights. Does anybody know if I could use my ballasts with the '06 lights.. Thanks!

You can also use the same bulbs with a little dremel action

Not really. Early lights are reflectors with D2R bulbs that has paint on the glass. '06+ are projectors with no paint on glass. To use the earlier bulbs on the later light you would need to dremel the base as has been suggested, and remove the paint from the glass. Seems risky and like a big hassle to me.

Yes I agree that the bulbs are different but yes you can use them, and yes it will work, I do not see any difference in my output and I saved around 180$

You mean more like $40. New OEM d2s bulbs can be had for much cheaper than you think

thanks for all the info. I'm thinkin about doin it, if I could get a good deal. I actually like the '04 lights, I like the clearance strip too.

Yea. You can find Philips 85122+ or 85122 D2S bulbs for around $40-$50
