Wink 2003 G35 Sedan Headlight Replacements - state of the industry? Big ups to the OGs ;)

Been a while since I have visited the forums. My how things have grown and changed as the majority of original G35's make their way into the second hand market.

I am thinking about replacing the headlights in my 2003 G35 sedan. I want to upgrade I have the non HID's. Are there any good "canned" replacements on the market? I just want something simple enough - self contained, powerful, and virtually plug and play.

(why would I post this in the general lighting forum? that's no good I need Original G Sedan expertise

More people will know the answer to your question there. Thats why they have that sub-forum.

Your only plug and play options are the aftermarket HID kits or the oem HID headlights with bulbs and ballasts.

The other option is a projector retrofit but that will take a lot more work.

I know they are not always high quality, but I cannot believe no one has made an aftermarket projector headlight for our cars yet.

Nope. In fact only a few of us have even done a projector retro for the sedan lights.

the 2003/04 first gen HID assemblies are direct replacement for the non-HID assemblies.

The wiring harness mates directly. The only thing you lose is the AUTO switch if you do not have that.

I have a 2003 G35 and had mine replaced with OEM HID assemblies (w/ ballasts and bulbs) a long while back. Just plug it in, bolt it up, and you are good to go.
