Today I took out my 06 projectors to paint the housings black. I currently have all bulbs and wires out but need to know how to remove the projector part. Also, what other parts of the headlight should I remove before baking them in the oven? If there is a diy for the 06 lights, that would be even better. Thanks.

 

u have to remove the lens to take out the projector. u can put the whole housing in the oven (projector and all) and u should be fine.

 

So you can bake the headlight with the projector housing and projector lense still in there?

 

yup. no way you can pull the projector out from that small hole in the back. If you bake around 200 degrees, you should be ok. Nothing will get hot enough to melt other than the sealant that holds the headlights together. You can leave the wries in there too if you want. I even leave my ballast on there when i do mine.

 

^ He's right but I normally take the ballast and the wiring out just to be safe.
