baked lobster tail-light anybody

ok, first, let me say im a dumbass. and please dont call me anything else or flame me. i considered not posting my act of stupidity, but i thought that the community might benefit from one member's mistakes. anyways, here goes.
i was trying to put the stupid M-6 reverse light bulb in my car (me and my dumb ricer moment). and i couldnt figure out how to get the stinking stock bulb out. i posted, and i couldnt not wait for a reply because im a dumbass like i stated above. so..... i decided that maybe if i bake my tail light, i can open up the whole thing and just stick it in....(btw, ive never done that before and thought i was McGuiver for a moment... a dumb moment). so i stick it in the oven... at 300 degrees on a freaking brownie plate thing with aluminum foil. i check it every couple of minutes thinking, "hehe, im so smart, im gonna be cautious and everything is gonna be a ok." after 5 minutes, the thing still isnt opening up, so i try to take it off the plate, and WTF, its stuck to the aluminum foil. i peel off the foil, and the freaking red plastic cover(that everyone sees) is F%#*@$(% melted and deformed and ugly. as i am typing, my tail light is making cracking noises as it cools down in my bathroom. either i buy a new tail light, or i try to sand the ugly parts down and polish it again.
let this be a lesson to you do-it-yourselfers...dont be a smart *** like me and do it yourself. let someone else who promises to pay for his or her mistakes do it. and lesson number 2, dont be a ricer. and lesson 3, dont bake unless you're a woman.

I had a ricer secret i never told anyone either, once in my old accord, i was driving a screw under my spare tire to put my ground wire in from my amp, and drip drip drip, i smell gas. I drilled into the gas tank, i coulda killed my self by exploding it by the heat of the drill bit...yikes!

How's that z-tube, ozracer? What kind of sound difference does it make with the ztube and K&N?

Re: baked lobster tail-light anybody

I feal your pain. I had my custom debadged 350Z engine cover in the oven, final stages of painting ya know. Wife turned on the oven to bake biscuit's,...........you can guess what happened. I now have a new Z cover to work on.

Haha that's great man. I give you credit for posting it! Everyone screws up sometime, and everyone's had those "what the hell was I thinking" moments too. Good luck finding a new tail light - did you check the Parts/Accessories for sale?

take it to the dealer and tell them ur light melted. This kind of quality is not acceptable. Claim warranty!

Sounds tasty, perhaps with some melted butter and coctail sauce. Mmmm, plastic. (in the voice of Homer Simpson)

Sorry to hear about that!

Re: baked lobster tail-light anybody

Gte,

The intake setup I have is great, i was initially going for the pop-charger and z tube setup but i didn't want something too loud, so I just went ahead and got the z tube and K&N drop in...for now. Definately sounds different from stock.

Re: baked lobster tail-light anybody

what exactly were you trying to do? any pics of the bulb you were trying to install?

we are actually picking up spare set of lights for the g35-s, let me know what kind of pricing you find.. maybe i can sell you the ones we have at a discounted price.

Good luck!
