Quick question as I tried searching and couldn't find anything to help me. My father just recently purchased a 2004 G35 Sedan, and it did not come with HID. Now he wishes to install them, and I dont know whether I should just buy an aftermarket H1 bulb kit, or get an OEM ballast, bulb, etc.

I initially thought that in order to install OEM HID bulbs into the housing, it would require me to purchase an OEM HID housing instead of using the ones on the car, which came with halogen. Am I correct on this or are the housing the same for both non-HID and HID and I can just buy an OEM ballast, bulb, etc. on eBay and it would hook up?

 

Yes you need to buy the HID headlamp housing to fully install the HID components (ballast, bulb).
