Revoming the interior trim in the trunk is pretty self-explanatory. After that, I think there are only (3) 8mm nuts to remove that secure the tailights to the body. Unplug any harnesses and remove. The manual says you're not supposed to reuse the rubber seals around the bolts but I have with no problems.

Talking

Hey Fellas!

I decided to take the "plunge" this afternoon and switch out the tails.

BEFORE:
<a href="http://usera.imagecave.com/WyattHD/IMG_6700.JPG"><img src="http://usera.imagecave.com/WyattHD/icth_IMG_6700.JPG.jpg"></a>

AFTER:
<a href="http://usera.imagecave.com/WyattHD/IMG_6698.JPG"><img src="http://usera.imagecave.com/WyattHD/icth_IMG_6698.JPG.jpg"></a>

SIDE-BY-SIDE COMPARION:

I could NOT be more happy with the new JDM tails!!!!!!!!

Only need to SEARCH (LMAO) for a thread about how to get my Rear SIDE MARKERS back...the JDM Tails do not have them, although they have a freaking "pre" trimmed/cut holes for the lights to be inserted and even have "USDM" written by the precut holes. FUNNY and very weird...why not have rear side markers??? Just weird to me...

Thanks Guys!

if there are pre-cut holes...then why don't you just add a 194 bulb there.

^ THX MAN! I freaking LOVE them. They actually [hard to explain, but take my word for it] make the rear end look more like the R34 GT-R's. I'll see if I can find a picture. I guess my attempt to make sense of this statement is to say that the old Skyline's had the Circle tails lights with a smaller circle (some refer to as the "Nipples") within the larger circle. And of course they had AMBER turn signals. Well, this 2006 JDM somewhat upgrades to meet that "look" so to speak. The old 2003 Tail Lights front surface are FLAT and SMOOTH - These new tails make the "Nipple" look from it's 3D effect. Here's a new pic to help explain that in a thousand words.

Believe it or not you can order these JDM tails from your local NISSAN DEALER. You heard/read that correctly. I'll dig up the part numbers. Your local Nissan dealer is able to get these ordered from the Nissan parts plant in Japan and they just add it to the Dealerships "Part Container Shipment", place it on a boat and 4-6 weeks later - BINGO!! - I paid $290.00

^ Yeah, sure man, np! I'll try and do that tonight and post - I can use an excuse to pull the grocery getter out and spend some time with her tonight! Maybe clean the passenger side leather - I've been meaning to do that for 3 months now.

Special NOTE
***************

The JDM tails no matter if they are the 2003-2005 or the 2006-2007; they do NOT...I repeat, do NOT have the side marker lamps.

I'm currently SEARCHING...yes, Lude, I'm searching, LMAO, for a post I could have sworn I saw where you can get the rear markers back! Let ME know if y'all know of that post - ANYONE, please!!

Thanks Guys!

Hey IvoryGT!!!

JUST THE MAN I NEED TO GET ADVICE FROM!!!!

Ok, I'm not an EE or have much luck with messing with wires and electricity, LOL.

How would I go about adding a bulb? The wiring harness directly connected to these JDM tails is MISSING the wiring going to the side marker (of course) and the old 2003 tails, have them intergrated in (of course).

Could I take the wiring harness (somehow) off my 2003 tails and just simply SWAP them out, cut out the hole and be on my way!?!?!?!?

What do you think?

Is there an easy SAFE way, to simply "SPLICE" into the existing harness on the 2006 JDM tails and just ADD the side marker bulb - like you stated?

How do I go about doing that??

Thanks Guys!!!!!!!!

Exclamation Help please!!! I'll pay you...seriously!

Does anyone know how to replace a rear side marker light (technically, an LED, according to my manual)? One of mine has gone dead somehow, and I simply want to replace it with another factory LED. I just called Infiniti and they said the only way to replace the rear side marker lights is to purchase an entire new light assembly (>$200). This doesn't seem right. If anyone is willing to offer SAFE directions on how to replace this LED, I'd be willing to pay them for that information. Thank you!

So there is no confusion on what light I'm talking about, please see the attached photo.
