CCFL side marker or no?
CCFL side marker or no?
I'm having some custom headlights made for me and I was just wondering if I should leave the 06 sides with no lights on them or if I should have the 04 sidemarkers fabricated on the 06 lights with CCFL tubes?

i hate to burst your bubble, but there's no room behind the shroud to put a ccfl there. if you open up the lights, you'll notice that the mount for the projector will prevent u from putting a tube light in there. that's why you see most modded 06 headlights either use LEDs or panel lights. But you can attempt it.

I think IvoryGT made a pair of '06 headlights with custom clearance strips. His just cut 'em out and made a lil' sliver for the light to shine through. Looked alright. But, I like the '06 without the CCFL. Looks cleaner, IMO.
If you want CCFL clearance strips, I would opt to have projectors retrofitted into a set of 03-05 headlights rather than retroing CCFL's into the 06's. IMO you end up with a cleaner install and better light distribution
i ordered the ccfl lights from some web link on here and they sent a igniter with four thin glass tubes but they were like 10" and they proke in the box. are they suposed to be sealed or will they light with broken tips. and how can i make my side marker strips on the headlight brighter and fuller
