06 retrofit DIY?
06 retrofit DIY?
I have an 04 coupe and I want to retrofit the 06 headlights. Is there a DIY or Sticky anywhere? I searched the forums and found numerous threads, but no instructions. I'm guessing that this should be pretty straight forward. Buy the new lights then put them in.... What about these ballasts? Do I need to mod the my current ballasts to make the 06 headlights work?
Hmm... Ballasts are direct swap on... and when you say retrofit... you mean you are buying just the 06 projectors? or do you mean you have the whole headlight assembly? Its hella easy if you wanna just install new headlights...
1. Take off bumper
2. Take off 4 bolts that bumper is held w/ (also the 10000000 plastic screws on the bottom and the grille clips)
3. Unbolt all 3 screws for each HL and remove... detach the ballast from the headlight asm...(hella hard... you might break your tabs here - I used a flat head and a LOT OF TIME)
4. Swap on ballasts onto new headlights...
5. Plug and play...
Be careful when ordering 2006 headlights.. you cant buy them used from anyone here via the marketplace ... you can order em new w/out the ballasts from Tony @ riverside - pretty fair price , real fast shipping...
PM me if you have any specific questions

infiniti recall was done on the original 06 projectors. there are a bunch of recalled projectors still floating around and you want to be sure that you don't buy a set of those.
you cant.. unless the lights are on your car and on but there is a very easy fix
