06 Headlights on 05 Sedan

I just got an 05 G35X, and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the 06 sedan headlights (with projectors) will fit an 05, and if so, will the bulbs and/or ballasts from my car work on the 06 headlights also? I already searched, lots of info for the coupe, none that I could find for the sedan.

That is because none of the sedans had projectors until they came out with the redesign in '07.

The 05-06 sedans do not come with projectors and are exactly the same, 07+ sedans come with projectors, that don't fit 1st gen sedans, and the coupe headlights don't fit the sedans.

06 sedans dont come with projectors...they started using the projectors for the 07+ sedans which was a complete redesign. Those will not fit your 05 X no matter what you do....you bulbs and ballasts will work on an 06 headlight, because neither have projectors!

edit: buy the time i was done typing it out, there was already 2 responses!

Thanks for all the responses - I will buy a second set and try my best at a retrofit then.

While we're on the subject of headlights, the 1st gen HID's should be a direct "bolt-in" for a standard halogen-lit car right?

Did you confirm the coupe projectors will fit the sedan turn signals?
The coupe lights will fit a larger lens but the sedan turn signals need a projector lens that is very close to the exact size.

The lenses are the exact same diameter as the outside measurement of the turn signal housing. I havent decided whether I am going to grind them down to fit inside of just place them flat on the outside or find some kind of ring/cover to fashion around the outside of the lense. I still need to play around with them on the set of bezels I have to see what would look best.

I've inquired with a few people that have done the projector turn signal and they've said they had them grinded down so I may have to go that route as well. Never grinded glass before...that should be fun

Nice to see this going on. I did retrofit my 95 Passat with TSX Porjectros and it came out pretty nice. That car is on its way now so i will sell the stuff if anybody wants it.
TSX Projectors
Hella Ballast
Bulbs

Keep pictures coming and maybe you should paint the housing of the HL black or color match your car (Just an idea)

I've searched the forum for a projector retrofit on the (pre-07) sedans. Not much comes up... Anyone know of any kits you can buy or 3rd party replacement headlamp housings? I haven't found anything searching on my own.

Who's this guy in NorCal that might do it? I really wish I had projectors on my 05 Sedan.
