switch to turn on headlights

hey i recently picked up a G coupe. i notice that when i turn on the headlights, i have to click through AUTO then the blinkers then to the lowbeams. I don't like it how my HIDs would turn on, turn off, turn on again as i turn the switch. Is there a way to avoid this?

Even when you turn them to on BEFORE starting the car, it still goes through the AUTO (turns on) then to parking lights (turns off) then to low beams (turning back on)

When its on auto, does all the other lights turn on also? i know some cars when they have that sensor thing on their car, where when it gets dark... the headlights turn on but not the rest of the lights like parking lights, taillights...etc

Nope. When the key is not in the ON position, the lights will not come on in the AUTO position.

exactly...if you already have it on 'ON' then it would have to flash through auto.

I mainly use AUTO, only time I don't is when its raining and state law requires I turn my headlights on, but its not dark enough for the sensors to do it automatically.

on the dash, for the sedans anyway, there are two pieces for the windshield defrost on each side, take the right side cover and pop it out, there should be a sensor in there, unplug it and leave the headlight switch to auto so everytime you cut your car on your headlights are on and you don't ever have to fool with them

Will this cause the G to always be in "night" mode? IE navi screen and dash lights dimmed? It would be nice if the headlights could always be on, but the navi screen/dash would retain the auto dimming function
