06 with clearance strips?
06 with clearance strips?
hey guys, im still new to the G and all and yea i have some questions regarding the headlight. i have an 06, so that means i have no clearance strip, even though i like them a lot. is there any easy way to add clearance strips on 06 headlights?
also, i know the top high beam light is called the projector. whats the light under it called? i would like to make that light HID, so what bulb would i use? ill post pictures of my car soon, thanks a lot!

yes you have no clearance strip.. idk if it's easy to add one.. haven't heard of it being done before.. as the lower light, that's your fog light and i'm not sure the size to get HID but i'm sure other members know. btw, if your fogs are off, your driving light is the light in the lower housing that illuminates the housing so if you want white ones, you can replace just the driving light with a SMT LED bulb
I would like to know this as well...I have 06 lights on my car now but also have a set of 04 any way to maybe pull the projector out of the 06 lights and install it the 04 housing or install the clearence strip in the 06 housing?

it wouldn't be very easy to add a clearance strip to your 06 housing. This is due to the way the projector is mounted inside of the housing. there is just no room for a clearance strip housing in there. the only way to put a clearance strip in would be to use LED's (see clearcorners.com) or use flat panel lights (PM IvoryGT for more info on that).
the bottom part of your headlights are the foglights. they are called reflectors. most people (including myself) would not recommend getting an HID bulb for the reflectors because of glare issues. To other drivers in front of you, it'll appear that you are a jerk that is driving with your high beams on all the time.
as for the city light that elayman recommends getting the LED bulb, a few people just them out because it look better without them. plus they also stay on when your fog lights are off, so if your fogs and city light are different colors, it'll just blnd the colors when you turn the fog lights on. so imo, its best to take out the city light.

I was thinking about installing strobe bulbs in the city light location...I know most people think it is rice but it is my car and I like them. I have seem them installed in 50k supra's and all kinds of cars that are not ricers so whatever. Just wonder if it will fit..any one done it?
it's been done many times ... this is mine from awhile back https://g35driver.com/forums/lighting/103689-finally-finish-modding-06-headlights-pics.html

IMO the cathode tube looks a lot cleaner.. I personally don't like all the leds in a row on the clearance strip, it looks too busy and I don't like seeing the hotspots
