I take it this isnt common?

And as far as i know this car has never been touched by a shop.

I might have to take the bumper off myself.

hid flickering all the time

Hi guys I just got back from the dealership after telling them my driver side hid has been flickering, they said it was a $100 labour charge just to check it out, so i've been searching the net for answers and have stumbled on this forum.

I have a similar problem except my light flickers all the time, it has never turn off, but during driving, car running and car being turned off, my light flickers.
Its not a big ON/OFF flicker but its like a really fast continues flick.

Is it better for me to just take it to the dealer or does anyone have a suggestion for me.

Thanks

My ballast was mounted to the bottom of the headlamp assembly, not the bumper. But I guess it doesn't really matter because you will have to disconnect most of the bumper anyway to get the assembly out.

^^^TO get to the ballast do you have to take out the bumper? Or is it accessable from the wheel well, by taking out the fender lining?

We just reached in from under the hood and did it, its a tight squeeze but we didn't remove anything when checking it. You just have to twist off the cap, and unplug the balast from the bulb and plug it back in. If your hand cant fit you can reach it from the fender liner, just jack up the car to give you more room to work with and remove the clips holding the liner in place.
