help with choosing balast and bulb combo for 03 to 06 headlights

hey guys, well i did my 06 headlight upgrade on my 03 coupe a while ago and never got the 06 ballast (just used the 03 ballast), so i only ran low beams and no fogs or turns etc. who needs that?

anyways, one of the ballasts burned out, and i need a new setup for the 06 headlights, i dont care if i have to buy after market HIDs or not, i just want my turn signals and everything to work and i dont know anywhere that sells just the bulb harness that i could splice.

does the 06 ballast come with the plugs for the rest of the lights? its been a while i cant recall.. and ya i need this stuff like yesterday.. hope somebody can provide me some good info!

the 03 and 06 ballasts are exactly the same. I have no idea what you are talking about, but your issues are unrelated to your ballasts, and more likely related to your headlight "upgrade" which i highly suspect consisted of used recalled projector headlight. Exactly why I don't recommend buying them to people, you never know what you are going to get, and if you don't know what you are doing, you end up where you are.

ok so what i need is the D2S instead of D2R bulb, since my HIs dont work im assuming thats what i need. what i was asking other then that was if the other bulbs connected through the ballast, i couldnt remember what it looked like, it was a dumb question though, already figured it out when i took the lights back off. and i also need a new ballast since my one ballast is still blown

d2s vs d2r makes no difference for high beams. Something else is broken. I highly recommend purchasing a NEW set of post recall projectors from a reliable source such as riverside infiniti

im using the old ballast, nothing else would be broken, the D2S is the dual filament Hi/Lo bulb. the H1 as opposed to H4 is just a single filament fog light, nothing is broken. just needs a different harness, or to be rewired, no big deal guys i was just asking before i got them apart.

The D2S is NOT a dual filament bulb. The high beam functions by moving the cutoff shield in the projector out of the way with a selonoid.

SilviaVsSupra what the heck are you talking about. D2R are for reflector housing and D2S are for projector housing. Both are single filament. Well its not really a filament at all its an electric arc jumping in xenon gas, but anyways. Hi/Low beams work on the 2006 housing by raising a shield inside the housing that allows the light to shine higher. Fog in the 06 housing are H1 (single filament). Fog in the older models are dual filament and the HIDs are only low beam D2R. Like prelude said. The ballast are the same for both. Dont even know what you are asking.
