19 bulb vled for license plate?

Spent about an hour searching and noticed that most are using the high power 6 bulb 194's. Then I noticed the newer SMT 194's that come in 5, 11, and 19 bulbs. Are the SMT's brighter than the high power? Any recommendations? Thanks!

Did some more research.

Most guys have used these:

The newer smt's are brighter but not sure if it would be overkill.

Got a response back from Jake at v-leds. He says that the 5led is a very good universal bulb that works great.

He personally uses the 2w 4 leds high power msmt's that are bright enough to light the ground behind the vehicle.

Hope this helps someone.

So these lights work on the 05 coupe right?

I get jealous when i see the new lexus' with the led plate lights. And on the lexus the light is strong enough to hit the ground as well.

The LED's are plenty strong for a plate. I used 4-LED 194's on each side and the plate is brighter than when it has the conventional bulbs.

For the plate, no real need to go super bright. Not a whole lot of area to ligth up. I don't think i would want my vantiy plate standing out that much if i do anything silly on the road

For the reverse lights, i went with the 5w SMT LED's from Vleds.
