you'll lose a lot of output (lumens) by going to an 8000K bulb. They might look cool but they will lose their affectiveness.

 

You mean that I will have less visibility with the 8000k than with my stock xenons?

That's what I did. I was surprised that the stock bulb was a philips 85126+ which is their 5000K bulb. It was still only slightly whiter than a halogen. I went with the ultinons and am pretty happy. You will still lose some output but the color is awesome. It's the best compromise in terms of color and output imo.

 

Can you post some pics of your lights. Where did you get the ultinons and how much did you pay? Thanks.

hey Al, what year is your G? they may have put those in the 2004, because my headlamps looks whiter than other G's on the road..

 

'04 purchased in february. not sure what the build date is but it wasn't on the lot very long.

 

I have 8500k on mine, and yes the look really cool and are bright as yet, But they dont light up the street as well as the 6000k ones. I guess its a matter of personal choice. I'll tell you one thing, you'll get flashed alot because they are pretty bright.

 

I think people confuse "brightness" with glare that the higher color temperature bulbs create.
