New Idea for 03/04 Sedan Taillights

Since the popluar mod is to upgrade to 05/06 round taillights... I was thinking about blending the two... LED lines and LED circles... kinda like teh new 3 series taillights...

Open up the rear lamps, and imbed on of the lights below, into the board that holds the lines of LED's... I know some of the original LED's will have to come out, and these will have to be wired in, but they already have wires for connecting as-is... in my mind, this sounds do-able...

Any thoughts? round light is 4" btw

I'd have to see a photoshop or something of it. Are you going to leave the stock turn signals then or cover them up?

This is a very rough idea of what i was thinking... it just seems to me that if it is possible to do SO many custom things with LED's, that there's no reason this shouldnt be doable, with soem patience and time...

It would probably be possible to do, I just am not really feeling it. I kinda like the solid bar all the way across, but that's just me

I like mine painted in the GTR style (very dark black) and the two pairs of circles doing everything (turn, brake and parking). Very clean and no ugly standard bulbs.

If I had an extra light to practice on, I'd be poppin it open tonite.. BUT... I like the idea cause it is different, then to finish it off, and make my work less noticable, I'd paint the inside black like tim said...

How do you open up the rear tails? There are two small screws that I took out and I gently tried to pry the outer lense off but I got scared. Has anyone removed the outer lense on the tailights?

You have to cut them open.

After seeing some more of these exact LEDS on some rigs, I dont really like the pattern of the bulbs... maybe taking the middle 2 out would make it more like a circle... but i dunno...

+1. I recommend some diamond cutting wheels, not the sandpaper type ones for dremels. You will go through 5 of those sandpaper ones for each light.
