"Running/Driving" Light on sedan

I have an 06 x and have never seen any info regarding a running light option. I have seen some of the retros that involve LEDs and am curious how these have been wired up. Are they using the parking lamp signal and just using that to switch or is there another source that could be used that would switch on with the ignition and still be on if the Auto function is used and the lights are off.

For 03-05 coupes I wire it to the clearance light +/-. For the 06 coupe projectors I use the city light +/-. It's pretty much foolproof as long as you don't get the polarity mixed up.
