^ true to that. like i told my wife about an suv that was practically about to eat my rear bumper for dinner the other night, "Babe, those purple likes looks cool and all but almost useless in the rain. Even with my stock lights, sometimes it hard to see in the rain and these are optimized for maximum visibility without searing oncoming driver's eyes. The way they are blinding us through the mirrors are because of the color temperature of the bulbs. The driver thinks its brighter but in reality, it's putting out less lumens than the stocks. Just like my LED/Incandescent flashlights, but that's another story."

Hahahaha daaaamn my bad. Like wow... Well, disregarding this "REAL output" lol my new 8ks light up hell of a lot more road then the lights that came on the car, but if they dont emit the same amount of light then I am sorry to have potentially mislead you..But you are kidding yourself redlude if you seriously think that my 8ks arent lighting up a hell of a lot more road then the factories did, cause i have 20/20 vision and so do most of my friends and we all notice a huge difference. And thats what I was referring to, how much of the road they actually light up, not how scientifically bright they are. Again sorry for the error.

So let me get this straight, your eyes somehow are a better guage of real output than scientific testing using repeatable standardized nonsubjective equipment Please quantify "a hell of a lot". How much extra output is a "huge difference"? You ricers make my day

you wanna see better, keep the temp at 4300k and then get a projector retrofit. Projetors have a wider and further beam pattern than reflectors.

As for 8000k.....it looks like ****......my room mate had 8000k and i had 4300k stock.....we put it side by side.....believe me when I tell you.......it is not BRIGHTER. He was feeling the Blurple color until he realized it is of NO MATCH in the rain. The lumens loss makes a huge difference in output. He's back at 4300k now.

Clearly you are not understanding your logic. How do you light up more road with less light in the same housing? Is your 8k bulb some kind of magic bulb that can aim light into specific locations on its own?

He probably has a bunch of glare with the new bulbs or they're aimed too high that makes him think that they're brighter.

Don't forget that the HIDs get less bright with time and use. vtguy429 probably swapped out some really old stockers with new bulbs, hence the perceived brightness. If he were to put in new 4300K bulbs, then that would be a real shocker and def. brighter than the new 8k bulbs

OMG! OMG OMG! NO WAY! Like maybe thats why this "vtguy429" that we speak of REFERRED TO THE LIGHTS ON HIS CAR. And of course NEW 4300k bulbs would be better but thats just my point my NEW 8ks light up more road then my old 4300k. Its nothing "perceived" its not an illusion its simply the way it is. And seeing how NOBODY that commented about how I was wrong and blah blah blabity stupid and how Im a ricer with magical lights has ever seen my lights, therefore Im going to say you have an uneducated opionion, and since I feel you voiced that uneducated opinion under false pretense (I never referred to all you peoples lights just MY OLD ONES (MY MY MY GET THE MY) )then I am going to deem you as ignorant. Thank you.

+1 ^

redlude has it right, 4300k is the ideal temp rating for maximum light output, whiter is not the same as intensity. Especially going to 8k, a significant loss in output.

D2S Phillips Ultinon - 6k on the left 4300 on the right, Most people put the Ultinons in as replacements, they are spendy, but hold up well.

If you are going to replace your H4s, go with the Sylvania Silverstars Great bulbs nice and clear look, by far the best output I have found.

^ do you have any pictures of that setup straight on towards the car? Is the 6k color white in appearance or a blue tinted white?
