04 Headlight WIRES with 06 Headlights?

I bought a pair of 06 headlights, and there were no ballasts, bulbs, wires or anything.

I know the bulbs in the 06 are different then the 04, but what about the wires?

The wires I'm talking about are the ones that come out from the ballast to connect to the various bulbs.

So my question is whether or not I can use the 06 headlights?

Also, the other threads say I need 4 bulbs:

1. Turn signal
2. Fog Light
3. Headlight
4. ?????

Where is number 4 located and what is it for (parking/city?)? Thanks

The ballasts are compatible, so any of the wires coming out of it are too. I think you can re-use all of your lightbulbs except for the ones that go in the projector, and the turn signal may also be different.

Turn Signal bulbs you can use, but are not the same color (04-Clear dual filament/06-orange single filament)

The missing bulb is your daytime running lamp (same as amber/clear corners)
it is for nothing. just looks. IMO. They will ony turn on when you turn your parking lights on in your 04 anyhow.

You cant use the lowbeam/HID because they are completely different bulbs (one for projector, one for reflector)

Fog light is also compatible but you are prob better off getting new ones (04-dual filament/06-single)

as for the harness, you need to find a 06. 04 will not work.

Darkstar is right about the ballasts. Plug and play!

the harnesses will not be plug and play, will will have to do a significant amount of rewiring and modding to the harness o get it to work.

Thanks for the replies.

So it looks like I will need a new harness... crap!

Hopefully that won't run much. Thanks

That's weird. I've sold the G so I can't re-check it, but anyhow I don't recall that any harness that needs to be changed. I bought a set and just swap them over except for the HID bulbs and everything just work the way they were.

My headlights work just fine I've got an 04 with 06 headlights, only thing is that I have to leave my headlights on to get turn signals to work. likely I just have to toss in a relay on the turn signals in order to make them work "properly" but I have no issues with mine

So you're saying that the harness fit for you? So all the caps (which are part of the 04 harness) worked on the 06?

You used the 04 harness without modifications? All the new bulbs, though different than 04, were plug and play?

cpufreak3: Yes, just like slvrg05 said. I too, just transferred the ballasts over (HID bulbs came with my 06 housings) and all other should work fine. The 04 strip lights can go to the little holes for the Day Time Running Light and that's about it.

what is this harness you guys speak of. i was told from a few members that when installing the 06-07 projectors onto the 03-05 coupes, it was plug n play, you can use your existing factory ballasts with the new 06-07 projectors

Just for future reference THE WIRES ARE DIFFERENT (I installed mine over the weekend).

Some gave the wrong info (just want to say thanks to those who were right), but the wiring harness in the 06 is different than the 04.

If you do buy 06 lights, make sure they come with the wiring harness.

Assuming you do get the wires, everything is plug and play.

^ That's correct. I ended up leaving it out because I don't like orange and I didn't have any hyper white 168 LEDs left.
