Very smart. Wouldn't have thought of that. Just make sure you bend off the right connectors.

Yes, you will need to bake you headlights and open 'em up. From there, you can take a dremel and sand it down.
After that, you can glue in a clear fluorescent light cover. I got mine from Home Depot. Huge sheet for $8.

So. Would cutting the red wire work? Just wondering. I can bend the bulb ends, but I am just asking if cutting the red wire is a simple, yet odd, fix.

Yeah you can cut the wires or you can take the two metal srips out of the bulb..which is better so u dont have a harness with cut wires..

^ The thin filament (top) is the parking lights. The thick filament (bottom) is the signal.
Simply follow the metal connected to the thin filament (top) and break off the metal connectors.
In this case, you would break off the two middle connectors.
BUT, this doesn't guarantee that's how our bulbs look. Just follow the same procedure. Identify the parking light (thin filament), follow the metal down to the base, then break off the connectors.

breaking off the pair (or even 1 i assume) of connectors on the bulbs is the best way, it'll only damage the bulb and nothing else. if you screw up, you get a new bulb.

cutting the red wires is the easiest way, but you are permanently disabling your parking lights (you can always re-wire/solder).

otherwise, you can do some baking, i don't mind baking but i don't do dremel :O

The red wire is just the + for the running light. The green wire is the + for the signal. As long as you have a halogen bulb hooked up to the green wire, you won't have hyperblinking.
Does anybody know if the green wire puts out constant power, or pulsing/blinking power? In other words, does the bulb or the power from the wire provide the blinking?

This is why I need to know, if you are curious: I am going to try and do a cylon/knight rider type turn signal in the clearance strip with a minicontroller (from “The Larson Scanner Kit”) and I need to get a constant power source for the turn signal to do so.

UPDATED INFORMATION: It does pulse. The BCM sends it out in a pulse. I need to get it before entering the BCM to get the constant power.
