04 headlights don't match?!?!

Ok, so recently someone backed into my car and luckily all that was damaged was the headlight.. so insurance covered it and I got a new headlight.. a shop installs it and i drive it home.. a week later after I detail my car I noticed that the new headlight is different from my old one..

My old one is the OEM dark grey color and my new one is chrome...

I thought from 03-05 the headlights were the same, so even if i got a newer/older model headlight it'd still look the same..

why are they different?!?!?

So, insurance only replace one headlight? LOL!
So, you're driving around with one old 03-05 headlight and one 06-07 headlight?
Wow, please take a picture! I want to see!

But, it's understandable from your insurance's point of view. They replace your damaged headlight with what they could find.
03-05 headlights are all used. You won't find a new set of those to replace your damaged ones.
Only the 06-07 are new and widely sold. So, you insurance picked those up.

You should try and see if your insurance will cover the replacement for your other headlight.
The 06-07 headlights are typically better than the older ones as they have projector headlights for better output and visibility.
Plus, they look much cleaner.

i have the same problem, cause one of my headlights had a crack in it, so the dealership replaced it under warranty. along with them being slightly different colors, the old one is oxidized to hell and yellow, while the new one is clean and shiny..
