Headlight question

Hi, I need to get my right headlight replaced on my base non-HID 03 sedan, so I figured why not try to get a set of aftermarke HID lights? Im trying to figure out what my options are but got really confused. Im assuming the only direct swap I can do is only another set of 03/04 non-HID lights? I can't put in 05/06 lights with some kind of aftermarket kit? or 03/04 HID lights with some kit? Sorry for noob question and thanks for your help

Only early '03's were non-HID. It was an option. I believe all '04's were HID.

So your direct swap option is to find a used set of '03 HID lights or '04 lights. 05/06 will not swap in.

Aftermarket headlights are based on non-HID housings.

And putting aftermarket HID's in a non-HID housing will cause glare. I had an early '03 sedan behind me that had an aftermarket HID kit in it's halogen housings and it was glaring all over the place. Please don't do that.

mustang, i'm pretty sure that the 04's are partial hid; that is, the low beams are hids and the highs are not. otherwise oncomings would have a conniption.

^+1 for the high/lo beam. What is the glare that was posted about? I think I have an 03 since I have an aftermarket HID kit installed by PO.

FYI, the 03-04 HID headlights are nearly impossible to find at a reasonable price. As for aftermarket, JDM makes black housing non-hid headlamps if you want to go that route. I really feel like there is a lack of options for our cars regarding headlights. Someone manufacture a legit HID one

All sedans pre-07 don't have high beam hid unless you have a retrofit like I did.

As for aftermarket hid kits on non-hid, non-projector ligts, it's not a good idea unless you aim them way down. They cause a lot of reflection that bothers other drivers, pisses off cops and gets shotguns pulled on you (or at least me back with my Accord).

Yep a 96 and 95. Nowhere near as modded as my G but had NOS and a bunch of bolt ons. My fav was still my black B13 91' sentra.
