The JDM Lighting kit I got from www.japanparts.com

You can search on the left hand side for Nissan, then Skyline 350GT. Then keep flipping the pages and pages of parts for our car until you see a lighting kit. That's the one I ordered.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Cant wait to see this, Im looking into mounting an LED or 2 by the sunglass holder shining down on the center console.
My last car ( JETTA VR6 ) had this so clean looking nothing crazy, Just dim ambient lighting in AMBER. on the Jetta it was RED to match.

I have looked at the Radio Shack piece posted earlier as well as the item below..

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...2FwiredLED.htm

Also looking to mount one in each foot well like the OEM G37 Lighting.

Def need the one thats mounted in a visible location to have the LED recessed so you do not see it head on.

Cant wait to see this, Dying to add it to my car.

PS.. Heres a cheap DIY but not sure how good it would look in our cars ( http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2789040 )

Heres what the OEM setup looked like I am going for and Im sure you guys as well.

Hmm I wonder if the OEM kit works with our USA Model

http://www.japanparts.com/images/Ima...base=1&no=6667

It sells for $167.86
  • Color: Amber, Left side + Right side
  • Car Manufacturer: Nissan
  • Car Name: Skyline V35 <Infiniti G35>

Looks great and OEM is always a + but if we can make something so basic similar and achieve the same effect for 1/2 the cost im all for it.

My main concern would be looking nice and clean, Not super bright just like the OEM kit.

They also list something else called " Foot / Under Seat Illumination "

But thats a staggering $327.00

I think most of just looking for the AMBIENT first option, Thats what im looking for.

^ I've actually been considering buying that kit but the price tag is holding me back for now.
Especially if it turns out that it's not compatible.

Hey Guys - so sorry. It's been way too long, but I've been swamped with work and two little ones at home - one of my boys is teething, so he's not in a happy mood most nights and on weekends, so lately I haven't found the time to post anything.

I have successfully installed the JDM lighting kit (let me look back at the package I got from Japanparts and make certain it's the same one that I installed, as I found another JDM kit that was briefly sold on everythingg35 a few years back that was for the 350Z, but would work in our coupes). I'll try and do my best to post pictures of the foot well lighting this weekend.

No progress on the ambient lighting. All I have to do is TAP into the power supply, but the wires are such a THIN gauge that the wire taps that I have on hand will not do the job. I'll most likely need to SOLDER and heat shrink the connection and want to take my time as I'm cutting directly into my homelink - which I use every single day.

Hope to update soon.

Thanks Guys!

Man guys, I feel like such a let down. SO SORRY. I did complete the above footwell lighting and can work on that (pics and a DIY) for certain this weekend:

http://www.japanparts.com/images/Ima...base=1&no=6702

As for the OVERHEAD Amber LED's wired to the rear-view mirror - I haven't had a chance, but hope to get around to it this summer (I would keep this thread subscribed and hopefully I'll have a DIY by July. I have a wedding to be a part of that month too - so I'll try my best.)

The footwell lighting was alot easier than I originally expected and had purchased the kit from japanparts.com four years ago. Yeah, you read that right. It took me 4 years to finally get around to getting this accomplished (I pinky promise not to let that happen w/ the LED in the rear-view - so wipe away the sweat - and plus some other members might be able to leap-frog over me and get this DIY completed - hopefully, right!).

Anyways, the footwell is freaking AWESOME!!! Again, I'll try and post a DIY for that very kit (only that kit though, b/c of course that's the one I purchased and can't say how other kits will install exactly - but hopefully the "principal" will remain in tact and could possible be applied to other kits?).

Hope to update soon fellas - hang in there!

Thanks Guys!

I am thinking the useless sunglasses holder which doesn't fit anything in there.
