Headlight switch: order of lights
Thought about this for quite some time now & finally coming around to posting the question.
Is there an easy or quick way (yes thats always wishful thinking) to change the order in which you turn on your headlights?
From this:
1. Off
2. Auto
3. Parking lights
4. Fully on
To this:
1. Off
2. Parking lights
3. Auto
4. Fully on
I ask because when its 6-7pm I'd like to get to my parking lights WITHOUT my HIDs triggered by the Auto switch. That just kills the bulb life.
So would this REQUIRE splicing and/or soldering?? I'm trying to avoid the soldering LOL

The order of the headlight switch has been discussed and complained about since 2003, and no, there is no way to change it short of completely taking apart the wiring harness and incurring who-knows-what other problems.
Two comments, though:
If you really want to use the parking lights for their purpose - that is, parking, then you can turn them on with the ignition in the OFF position without triggering the HID headlights.
If you want to drive with the PARKING lights on, and if it's dark enough at 6-7pm to trigger the auto headlights, then you should really be driving with the HEADLIGHTS, lol

Sucks... most Lexus models have the Auto switch on the last notch... they actually THOUGHT this through...
Thanks for your suggestion. I'll keep that in mind when im moving my cars in/out of my driveway.
And yes when it is dark, of course i would turn on my headlights so other can see me as well. drivers can be cited for it too, in which they should!
