I've recently purchased this 2005 G35 for a fairly good price, but am unhappy with some of the mods. They're just not my cup of tea.
The previous owner blacked out the headlights and tail lights. What would be the best way for me to return this to stock (or mod them in some other cleaner way)? Are the inside of the lights painted, or is it some sort of tinted film?
Any suggestions, advice, or instructions would be much appreciated. I wouldn't mind doing something else to mod the headlights while I have them open if anyone has some suggestions. I just don't really like the blacked out look too much. Thanks in advance!

looks like overlays...with some effort you should be able to peel them off..but if they are painted with lense paint,im not sure how to remove it...you might be better off trading hls with another member,as far as a cleaner look, many of the members actually paint the shrouds, very easy and great looking mod

If they are painted, which seems to be the case, only idea i can think of is wet sanding them, start with about 800-1,000 grit and if you can get through the paint, then switch to 1600 once you get through the layer of paint. All you have to do then is compound them and polish them up and they should look like new!

I can't tell if they're painted or if it's film.
If it's painted you're going to have to wet sand it all off. Just start with 800 wet and work your way up to at least 1500. Get some rubbing compound, polish and wax and they should turn out fine. Going to have to keep them waxed, though.
