I was replacing my 05 tail lights and ran into a bit of a snag. The right tail light had two wires split off before the "plug" - the black wire and the green wire with yellow stripe. It looks like they run up to the trunk lid (I'm thinking to lip brake light). Am I correct with this?

I just cut the two wires running up the trunk lid and am planning on splitting off the the same wires on my new tail lights. Any comments?
