hi guys. i am the second owner of the car and the previous owner put in blue lights !!! how awful !!! i was trying to change the bulb but i dont understand how to take it off. do i have to take the whole door apart? thanks guys !

 

Eh man... going through the process myself right now and just downloaded the factory service manual thank to a guy in the FAQ section of the forums. You might want to grab it up too... the FSM breaks it all down for you step by step. I'll keep you posted. I have to do the overhead lights too!

If you go to file LT in the FSM you can find it on page 162. I'm reading it now- looks easy!


STEP LAMP
Removal
1. Remove clips which are lower part of front door finisher and lift
finisher up.
2. Disconnect step lamp connector.
3. Press pawl on reverse side and remove the step lamp.


Edit: Just finished... took me about 10 minutes to do all 4 lamps. Don't both disconnecting anything, just stick a small screwdriver in the corner and gently pop off the cover. The wire connecting it is pretty tight, but if you pivot the cover slightly it will give you easy access to the lamp. Use the same screwdriver to "pry" the lamp out- and then just push the new bulb in. UBER easy. Might I add I used the kit from Statik Performance (package 4 if you do a search for LED lighting) and it is SWEET. If you are using single directional bulbs (like the LEDs) then they actually go in "upside down" (LED facing the cover). An omni directional light obviously can go in either way.
