DIY: Adding/Fixing 3rd Brake Light if you went Spoilerless/ DoriLuxe/ Strafe Trunk

Tried putting this on the DIY Thread but i guess it has to be approved?

This DIY uses the OEM 3rd Brake Light Housing & Assembly but im sure you can
fabricate other ways to setup your own 3rd Brake light if you do not have this.

I know a lot of people have recently went Spoilerless/ DoriLuxe / Strafe Trunk
and by doing so lost their 3rd brake light if theirs was on their spoiler.

Well as some of you may know, I recently got Rear Ended. I DID purchase a 3rd Brake
light Assembly Months before my accident from a member on here but he failed
to mention that the light wasn't working (common problem from those who have and
interior 3rd Brake light).
I figured having the 2 lights go off in the Tail lights was sufficient so i
forgot about it. but since i did get
hit from the back (no homo) i want to do everything i can to prevent any future
occurrence. I was lucky to only have Damage to my Rear Bumper, Right Quarter Panel,
and Exhaust.

I Refuse to pay the 180$ Replacement for the complete Light fixture. I have read that
the problem is just a fuse or Resistor but i dont have any real electrical experience
so i opted to just splice in a new LED bar and make it work with the OEM Housing & Assembly.

I am just sharing what I did.
Below is a Step-By-Step series of photos. if you have any questions
let me know!

Just FYI, as some background info, you need to untangle the 3rd brake light,
wiring that led into your 3rd brake light trunk and re wire it inside.

I purchased this Universal 6" Motorcycle LED bar for 40$ and some Splice
Connects for like a dollar at Wal-Mart. thats all you need.

I'll post some outside pics as soon as I figure out how to mount it to the rear deck
since I don't see any mounting points where the Housing locks in.

Hm I'm not sure. You might want to check eBay or an INFINITI Dealership.

I just finished replacing my 3rd brake light using the above DIY guide and it looks great! It was a lot easier than I expected to be removing the brake light housing (g35 coupe). Here are some pics of the new brake light (same ones used in DIY guide).

I plan on doing something unique for a third brake light before spring if funds allow. I will make a thread.
