Look at your headlight and on the lower portion there are letters and numbers molded into it. If it says DOT they are halogen. If it says D2R, they are hid. You can also tunr on you headlight and fog light at the same time. If the uppers are a really white light and the lower is yellowish in comparison you most likely have hid.

I just got my G35, which is almost identical to yours, and I wanted to change the bulbs.

Also, what kinds of bulbs does a stock G35 come with? Will I notice a huge difference between stock and 6000K?

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
Look at the original post, there is a link.

You have OEM HID bulbs.

Go to first link and buy "D2R" HID bulbs of your choice and swap.

H1

You have halogen (non-hid) bulbs......unless someone swapped in an aftermarket kit.

From my understanding you only need the kit, none of the extra stuff.

If you are doing HID Fogs, You just need the Ballast and the bulbs, everything hooks up

you just need bulbs for the lows

Guys, I know I'm late to this party but for what you can by true Philips or Osram bulbs for, you should be sticking with them rather than cheap DDM after market bulbs. The after market bulbs burn much hotter and pairs don't always look the same. Also, you should stick with 4300-5000K, anything higher in kelvin and you will lose significant light output. Anyway, why would you use cheap $15 off shore bulbs in a higher end car. Most of the guys on this board don't think anything of spending hundreds of dollars on kits, wheels, ICE etc, why would you cheap out on being able to see at night lol? $70 will get you brand new Philips bulbs that are guaranteed to color match and last a few years without any issues I've heard and seen stories of those DDM and other offshore bulbs burn the chrome right off the projectors they're housed in because they run so much hotter than OE burners and thereby ruining them....better be careful! My $.02.............
