LED headlight project.

So as many of you already know the R8 has entire LED headlights.
and LED technology is getting cheaper, with higher power LEDs becoming readily available.
However, There isn't much optics on the market short of reflector housings. there are no LED projectors that I have seen.
So My project is to make Near-Complete LED headlights. the only part of the headlight which won't be LED is the foglights and thats because I like having yellow fogs.

The first part of this process is to make Projectors that will give a good output.
I want to run dual projectors in each housing for the low beam and a larger projector for the highbeam. As well as a projector for the foglights. The turn signal will also get a dome lens to simulate it being a projector.
needless to say this is going to take alot of projectors.

As of right now I ordered a 44mm lens a 50mm lens as well as a 50mm aluminium heat-sink reflector for the 900 lumen LED. As well as the 900 lumen LED its self.

I am also working on modifying an already existing projector to make it compatible with an LED instead of Halogen or HID.

And of course I will be taking pictures throughout the entire process for your amusement. =)

Few questions:

How are you gonna run 4 projectors in each light? (you listed 2 low beam 1 hi and 1 fog) are you designing your own mini projector bowl to fit the confines of the space?

900 lumens isn't enough? Or will you run three or four of them per light?

Are you using the reflector heat sink thing behind a projector lens? Is that the idea? Any link to said reflector? I don't know much of this and am curious

well it will technically look like 5
the plan is for the low beam to come out of 2 custom projectors in each headlight.
these 2 projectors will be smaller in diameter than regular 2.5 inch projectors. I'm planning on using 44mm lenses which comes out to be 1.73 inches each.
For the high beam I will be using a 3 inch projector assembly if I have room to fit it, if not then a 2.5 inch assembly.
the foglight will also be a 2.5 inch projector. most likely these from the retrofit source because they are compact.

and I will use either 44mm or 50mm projector lens over wherever I place the turnsignal.

What type of projectors are you using for those test pics? The beam pattern isn't that great...it looks like ebay projectors. Is that what you are planning on using for the final product?

Also, are you using any resistors or using a current-limiting power supply for the LEDs?
