Now b4 it is asked ..... I have been searching and reading.
Its seems to me that my problem is a little different.
Problem: From what I can tell my driver's side OEM HID ballast keeps unlocking from the back of the bulb. Once in a while (but it has gotten more frequent lately) I will turn the car on and the drivers side OEM HID will not be on..... I will then, screw the cap off the back of the light and turn and lock the ballast back in place and it will work fine. My car is not a DD and I dont do anything crazy in it like jumping ramps or 4 wheeling in the woods.
During my search I have seen several thread where there lights flickered and things like that. My headlight doesnt do that ....... its all or none. Either it comes on or it doesnt.
Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix for it ......

I have a weird headlight problem too...... when i park my car under the sun for 1 hr or more..... the passenger side light stops working( so i drive with my search lights on to avoid ticket), but after a day or 2 parked under the shade it starts working again.
I'm clueless

On a more serious note: Have you tried completely disassembling your headlight and taking a look inside to ensure all the connections are tight? Also, double-check ALL connections from the ballast and the headlight. If the ballast is aftermarket (ebay) then you might just have a defective ballast, but this does not seem to be the case. Hope this helps!

OH, I meant to say, I DONT JUMP IT ANY MORE ....... NOT TIL I GET IT LIFTED ANY WAYS
I will probably take it apart sometime later this week and see whats-what. The ballast is the original OEM ballast, the bulb is aftermarket.
