Lightbulb auto On/off headlights

when my headlights are on auto they do not turn off. I dont think its the sensor because they still turn on when its dark enough but just dont turn off....Any ideas on how to fix the problem?

Mine does that randomly, but not consistently like yours. Could be your photosensor went bad? First things first, check your fuses, all 3 locations.

So if like you drove under a bridge, it would turn on, then outside in the bright it stays on? Or does it stay on after you turn off the car and doesn't turn off? Not quite sure exactly what's going on here.

The Auto light function is set-up to turn itself off like a minute or two after you close the driver's door. If you do not open and then close the driver's door the lights will stay on forever. (this becomes a problem for people who remote start and then turn the car off remotely)

Assuming you are aware of this and waiting a good 5 minutes and still not seeing the lights go out, I would follow the door...switch (for lack of a better word) which detects whether the door is open or closed. Do your dome lights come on automatically when you open the door? (they can also be triggered by unlocking the car, so you may not even notice if this feature wasn't working). If they do then I would bet on the connection between that switch and the light system.

Unfortunately, I am no 12-volt expert and don't know where all of this takes place. I just know about it because my remote start and headlights don't play nice unless I open and close the driver's door and it scared the crap out of my remote start installer until we figured it out.
