Lighting question

Whats up fellow G35 owners!
First time post and first time G35 owner. I just picked up a 2006 sedan and want to upgrade the lighting on it. I was thinking of going with 10k hids and fogs, led interior lighting, reverse light, license plate light, and is there any way to change out that small amber bulb in the headlights? Any suggestions on where I should get the bulbs from and do you know anywhere I can get headlight cover replacements because mine are starting to crack. Thanks in advance

10K HIDs will be very blue approaching purple and your light output will be reduced significantly, I wouldn't suggest it. I'm running 6K bulbs and they are bright white with a tiny tiny hint of blue. If you do 8K it will be more blue in color.

For all of the led lights you can hit up Statik Performance (they are a sponsor here), I'm running their leds they look great. Tell Henry that Marcus sent you his way.

If by smaller amber bulb in your headlight you mean the amber housing, you can swap it out for a clear one, but you'll have to dremel it out and cut out your own clear lens to replace it.

Unfortunately there isn't a cheap replacement for our headlights like the 03-04 guys have. Your best bet on replacing the cracked headlight would be to search around on eBay for a while and hope you find a deal. Used ones usually go for hundreds of dollars per headlight, at the dealer they are $900+ or so per pair IIRC.

That's actually the price for a single headlight, not pair. I don't think that includes the HID ballast and bulbs either. It's roughly 800-900 each.

I have 8k, and I don't know if it's the OEM ballast or the bulbs, but I get poor output at night, mainly during the rain. I'll be swapping out to 6k. Also, getting 10k fogs or anything higher than OEM defeats the purpose. You want to go lower so that you can see through the fog. That's why most people go with yellow (besides going for the JDM look).

Yup, I was quoted lower through a hookup, but it was still pricey as heck. Hence I was trying to source out a used one. Junkyards around the area quoted $400 for a single headlamp as well. Usually ebay is the best bet.

^I guess my projector retrofit headlights (which included brand new OEM headlights) for less than one new OEM headlight was more than a steal than I realized.
