Question about replacing 04 projectors with 06-07 projectors

I am a clueless n00b so bear with me. Here's a picture of my current projectors. They're the stock 04 ones, but the previous owner I bought the car from put blue side markers and a blue outer strip down the outside of the projector that I really like. I know the side markers would be unaffected but I'm worried about the strip down the outside of the projector. If I replaced the 04 projectors with the 06-07 projectors, how would I keep the blue color on the projector? Thank you to anyone who helps me.

Either retrofit your current reflector with projectors or buy 06-07 and retrofit an LED mod strip...

The 06+ headlights do not use the side clearance strips like the earlier models. If you still want them, I think it would be all custom work... maybe opening the headlights themselves..

Agreed, you would have to open them up

thanks for the replies. i thought the upgrade to 06-07s was a slam dunk, now i'm not as crazy about it...is the upgrade worth the loss in the colored strips at night?

Not sure, just how much do you turn your lights on and get out of your car to look at them?

Better visibility at night > ALL. Period.

06/07 projectors are the way to go... Hands down best mod you could do to a 03-05. that light strip I always thought was ugly. gave the car a rice look IMO

I purchased my car just about a year ago, and upgraded from my 03 lights to 06+ projectors. They are so much better, and so clean looking. I think you would forget about those side strips after seeing them on your car

Greetings self-proclaimed "n00b"

In the interest of helping you learn, I will correct one thing in your original post so that you have a greater understanding of automotive lighting.

Your 04 headlights have both an upper and a lower reflector type design. The 06-07 "projector" headlights incorporates a projector into the top, and also leaves a reflector on the bottom. Therefore, if you continue to say "04 projectors", people will be confused. What you meant to say, most likely, was HID, as the 03-05 headlights did in fact use HID reflector design.
